After Marlee came I was really good using my fitness pal, doing Zumba and exercising. I slacked off after 6 weeks because I was seeing now results. So then I did not do much for a while but I have really gotten back into it. I have been taking fish oil every morning, and doing daily work outs. I have been going with a friend walking at least twice a week and I have been drinking a gallon of water a day for three weeks. I've also been making more healthy meals! I was just really hoping to have lost more weight then I have, but I haven't. It is so disappointing.
When I got pregnant with Benson I weighed 106 pounds. After losing 15 from morning sickness, I topped out at 148 pounds. Marlee I start out at 128 pounds, lost 9 and topped out at 152. I currently am at 140 lbs and a size 4. I really want to lose at least 20 pounds. I want to be around 115 to 120. But it seems I will
What are some things that you have done to lose weight while breastfeeding? How did you get your belly skin tightened back up? Apologizing first, but all those people who fit right back into their pre-pregnancy clothes like right after birth make me sick! lol! Lets share our tips and secrets!
I feel your pain!! I actually just did a post about all my pregnancy weight gain and, finally, loss back at the beginning of March. I don't seem to lose weight when I'm breastfeeding either. In a nutshell, for me it was finally cutting back on carbs and sugars! You can search the blog archives to read more detail about it if you'd like. :) But anyway, just hang in there!!
ReplyDeleteWell I an trying! My husband also gained pregnancy weight ever time and the doctor told him he has to lose weight! So Ive been making healthier meals for him because he doesnt want to work out with me!! lol I get frustrated because I want results now you know!
DeleteMy sister-in-law has mom belly after losing all her pregnancy weight and it turns out it was (I forget the name of it) caused by the muscles being stretched out essentially. So she does specific movements now after going to a physical therapist (is that right??) to target her specific issue. Regular techniques and sit-ups wouldn't have done a thing to change it. Sorry my details are so foggy! :P
ReplyDeleteYes I know what you are talking about! I have read about it too and there are exercises you can do! I need to start doing that.
DeleteFour months pp right here and I'm about 7 pounds away from my prepregnancy weight. Last time around the pounds stuck to me like butter even though I breastfed. They're doing the same now, but I'm on WW and it's really helping. I've dropped 12 pounds since starting, and I'm so close to finally getting to that prepreg. weight. I'm hoping I can get there in a few more weeks.
ReplyDeleteLucky lol! I tried after my 6 week pp checkup for 2 months and didnt lose a pound so I quit for a few months. I have been making weight watchers dinners! I need to stick to it!
DeleteBreastfeeding really got me back to where I was before. I go on daily walks, take the kids to the park.. I also go to a baby wearing dance class.. So that has helped a lot. I got a FitBit and that has really gotten me to get off my butt everyday.

Walking is great! I love it. My neighbor has a fitbit, I have been thinking about getting one! I did not lose any weight with my son either while breastfeeding but once I was done the weight started coming off. Then its the same thing this go round too! So it makes me want to stop breastfeeding but I've only got 3 more months until the 1 year mark, so Im trying to hold out!
DeleteGirl I had the SAME thoughts at 9 months. It's hard. And I blamed it on breastfeeding too but guess what? That wasn't it. I started working with a personal trainer and lost all the weight and got down to under my ore-baby weight when my baby was around a year and never stopped breastfeeding. For me at least as soon as I changed my diet and started making healthier choices COMBINED with daily workouts and lots of strength training instead of just cardio I started to see a huge change!
